Jessica McAlpin, DVM
Dr. Jessica McAlpin knew that veterinary medicine was her calling as a small child. After graduating in 2005 with a major in Animal Science and a dual minor in Zoology and Wildlife Ecology and Conservation at the University of Florida, she obtained a Master's degree in Public Health and Epidemiology. In May of 2011, Dr. McAlpin graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at The University of Florida, with a special veterinary interest in Clinical Pathology and Wildlife Medicine.
Before her PrimeVet adventures began, Dr. McAlpin worked for several Animal Hospitals in the Jacksonville area, as a relief Veterinarian. In addition to working at Switzerland Animal Hospital, Pet Doctors of America, Dunn Avenue Animal Hospital and Clay County Humane Society, her most recent work was with Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services. It was at JACPS that Dr. McAlpin found a new love of shelter medicine.
In her free time Dr. McAlpin enjoys practicing yoga, surfing in Nosara Costa Rica, photography and teaching Latin dance. Her most favorite hobby however is watching The Florida Gators basketball and football game! Gooooooo Gators!!!
Her husband, Dr. Ryan McAlpin (also a UF Alumni) is an established dentist in Orange Park. They share a baby girl, Lilya, who will be 2 years old in December 2014, and a baby boy, Tegan Merrick, who was born in May of 2015. Their home is completed by 2 kitties and 2 dogs, MiKayla Ann, Mia Maria, Sada Lane and Madek. Both Dr. McAlpins are proud to serve Orange Park and surrounding Jacksonville.

Stephanie Holloway, DVM
Dr. Holloway has always loved animals, having grown up in a very pet friendly home here in Jacksonville, FL. After knowing animals would always be a part of her life, she decided that veterinary school was her final academic goal. She continued to work locally at veterinary hospitals in the Jacksonville and Orange Park areas while enrolling at Florida Community College of Jacksonville. Once Dr. Holloway graduated with her Associates Degree she transferred to University of Florida College of Agriculture and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in 2003. While enrolled in classes at UF, Dr. Holloway worked at the University of Florida Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in the ICU, managing the blood bank for the hospital and was the lead nurse for the Orthopedic department. Dr. Holloway also received her Master of Science degree in Veterinary Science in 2004. Dr. Holloway was then accepted into Veterinary School at the University of Florida, and graduated in 2010.
Prior to working at PrimeVet Animal Hospital, Dr. Holloway worked at Clay County Humane Society for 3 years. She has also worked relief work at several general practices throughout the Jacksonville and Orange Park areas along with working at the Jacksonville Humane Society and Jacksonville Animal Care & Protective Services, always having a passion for shelter medicine.
Dr. Holloway enjoys horseback riding and being a mother to her two children, Kymber and Brody, as well as wife to Tim, also an established veterinarian in Jacksonville. Her home is much like how she was raised: full of love for her 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 tortoises, and 4 horses. Even with all the excitment, somehow she still manages to sneak in a little reality T.V. time!

Surgery, special interest in orthopedic surgery
Michelle joined our PrimeVet family in April of 2015 as our office manager. She has been in the veterinary field for over 9 years. She spends her time with her son Logan, husband Jeff and fur baby Chow Chows, Miken and Chowder, Elsa a Maltipoo, Ryder a Lhasa mix and Tess a Siamese mix. Before her family got so big her passion was fostering homeless pets and finding them new forever homes.
Ashley was born and raised in Orange Park. She has been a veterinary technician since 2006 and has been with PrimeVet since the day we opened in 2013. Her favorite parts of being a technician is surgery and client education. She has a soft spot for handicapped animals. Her first fur-love was Molly who was diagnosed at a young age with Fibrosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, and had to have her leg amputated. She now has 2 other fur-babies. Ice is a Siberian Husky, who she rescued at 14 weeks of age with a broken leg that couldn’t be surgically saved. Ice is now an adult dog who doesn’t even know she is a tripod. Ashley also has Ernie, another Siberian Husky who was also rescued young that is a happy, healthy, hyper boy. Ashley and her significant other Brandon love spending their time outdoors and taking Ice & Ernie on walks and to dog parks. Ashley also enjoys DIY arts and crafts.
Jennifer was born and raised in Orange Park. Since she was a little girl she dreamed of working with animals. She started her career as a veterinary technician in 2007 and joined PrimeVet when we opened in 2013. She loves client communication from vaccines to dental care to the proper food recommendation for each patient. She also likes emergency medicine, surgical recovery and wildlife rehab. She spends her free time with her high school sweet heart, and now husband, Denver. They have 2 beautiful kids, Alex and Willow and fur-kids Spencer & Ava who are both rescue mix breeds and Zig-Zag who was feral rescue kitty.
Stephanie is our Florida born, New York raised, technician. She started as a kennel tech over 12 years ago. She completed the Veterinary Technician Program at SUNY Ulster in 2013. She and her husband Matthew, who currently serves in the US Navy, welcomed their first child, Isabelle in February of 2016. Stephanie also has 2 fur-babies, Boomer who is a spaniel mix and Shelby who is a hound mix. Stephanie’s passion is emergency care and dentistry and loves how rewarding it is to help all furry and not so furry creatures in need.
Carina was born in Naples, Italy and traveled to Guam with her parents who served in the Navy. Most of her childhood was spent growing up on the beautiful island, snorkeling the reefs and playing in the water. Though she grew up wanting to study marine biology and zoology, she became interested in the veterinary field in high school and shortly after graduating in 2010, she became a Veterinary Technician. She joined the PrimeVet family in December of 2015. Besides caring for her beloved pets at home, her free time is spent reading, listening to music and enjoying time with family.
Amy joined PrimeVet in October of 2015 as our Receptionist. She has been in the small animal veterinary field for over 17 years. She has a dog named Bo, Lou Lou the cat, a rabbit, ducks and chickens. Amy enjoys doing rehab for wildlife, going to concerts and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Jessica has lived in Jacksonville her entire life. She is a proud and loving mother to her 3 rowdy boys. In her spare time she volunteers at the local shelter, goes to help at adoption events, fosters and transports animals for local rescues. She has 2 Pitbulls of her own, Turk and Bruce along with 3 hairless guinea pigs and a cat with lots of personality, Tuffy.
